Kiss Of The Spider Woman @KLPac

Ahhh look at that clear sky. Who would have thought it was raining monkey's ass an hour before that. The drive there was extremely terrifying because it was impossible to see the road. The only thing visible up ahead was the tail lights of other cars, and even that was blurry.

Anyways, went to KLPac with the gang last Friday (a day before Thirst) to catch a "Kiss Of The Spider Woman" musical because we were required to write a review of the musical for our reflective learning. I think trips like these in conjunction with class assignments are more eventful then plain old boring questions like

1. How do you think this subject has helped you in deciding your future career pathway?
2. What were the difficulties that you have faced throughout this semester and how did you overcome them?
3. What are the 3 Taylor's Graduate Capabilities that you have gained through this subject?

If I have to crap another entire paper about the graduate capabilities that I've gained, my hands are going to bleed for typing lines and lines of lies.

One of the cafe's in KLPac

The place is relatively hard to find. That, and the GPS and google maps were screwing with us. We arrived at our "first destination" in the middle of a kampung in the city. I know what you're thinking. A kampung in the city? You'd be surprised. We managed to find the place after almost 2hours though, including the jam and countless detours.

It's always this time of the semester that I don't even bother with makeup. I'm always so gung ho about dressing up and making sure that I look presentable in Uni but alas, like every other semester, I'll just go "Fuck it, that's how I'm leaving the house".

We reached fairly early, despite the jam and detours. An hour and a half to be exact, so we decided to stroll around the grounds. The place is so beautiful, the lake is full of Koi fishes, like big ass Koi's and the view of the lake and everything at night is quite breathtaking, which makes it a potential place to do dating ;)

View of the building from the outside at night. My camera is so frustrating, it doesn't do justice to the actual scene.

Went back into the building an hour before the show started because we were getting eaten alive by mosquitoes outside. Settled down in another cheaper cafe for a snack before the show started. The shelves are decorated with cd players, tv's and brochures and magazine's about the local performing arts scene. I think that us Malaysians always underestimate the Arts. It's just as important as any other industry but yet it is one of the least unappreciated ones.

This is what happens when a Justin Bieber portrait is discovered. Ellen will never give up the opportunity to mock him. Poor Bieber nostrils.

Come come, Qing will always have some love to spare for you. But the rest is reserved for One Direction hehe.

Brownie with vanilla ice-cream. The best by far is the one in TGI Fridays... With a whooping 1470 calories.

Beef pie. Shared both with Ariel.

There were 18 of us in total attending the musical that night because most of us were going to Thirst. The rest of the class went the next day.

Sigh. Being a local production, the door opened to the public at a Malaysian time of course, LATE! Having been to quite a fair number of musicals and plays before this, I didn't have much expectations for this, partly with it being a local production. But boy did it exceeded my expectations. The acting was not as theatrical as the internationally staged musicals and maybe that's what I liked about it. You could really see the actors portraying the character that they are playing and not expect them to randomly burst into a song.

"Two men are forced to share a cell in a South American jail. One, Molina, is a romantic fantasist condemned for his sexuality. The other, Valentin, a young Marxist rebel punished for his ideals. Through the glamorous world of the movies, an unlikely relationship is formed that offers both men the hope of survival."

In my opinion, the character that made the best impression was Molina ( first male on the first row ). His acting was the best and the most believable. Others, I think, were trying a bit too hard, but still good nonetheless. A very unexpected ending to a more unexpected liking towards the musical. I can definitely see myself returning to KLPac again some time soon.

Drunk Tales At Heineken Thirst 2012

How else do you keep yourself calm right before having your first year end finals? By going to a rave of course-! Heineken Thirst event with the gang on the 8th Dec was by far one of the most magical nights of my  life. Still in awe of everything from last night, the people, the lights, the music...

Ahahahaha look at my Mickey Miao bag

It was a drama filled morning for me on that day.  I almost didn't make it because MrChoo refused to let me spend the night in Sepang. But hey, a party is a party and there was no way in hell I was going to miss it. Don't get me wrong, I'm no party animal but seeing as how much I've spent on this trip, there was no way I could have just gave up on everything, can I?!

Everyone met up at Uni before heading to our hotel in Sepang. The hotel was a gorgeous boutique hotel situated in the middle of no where Bandar Baru Selak Tinggi which took us a lot of detours and U-turns to find. Didn't took many pictures of the hotel because I was just too excited and can't wait for the party to start.

Pop coloured portrait of Aung Sun Kyii

So cute-! Reminds me of the ones in Hard Rock hotel. The fluorescent blue lights that lit up the corridor were a bit eerie though. It reminded me of a brothel -.-"

The ladies crib-! For a budget boutique hotel, this place is really worth it. 11 of us had to pay RM42.50 each for 3 rooms. Steal-! Don't judge, we're poor college students.

And this are how girls get ready for events lol. Being a guy is so simple, I envy them sometimes, especially during moments like these. When we started to get ready, the boys went downstairs for mamak to recharge their fuel. The time us girls took to bath, do our make-up and dress up is equivalent to the time spent for the boys to eat, bath and get dressed. What nonsense.

I suppose you could say we can always opt to not do our make-up. But hey, its what makes us girls happy.

Put on a fake spider tattoo. I've got loads of them from my previous school events and I'd hate to see them go to waste. There was one on my ankle and a small one on my face as well ahahhaa. You either go all out or you go home.

Reached Sepang circuit relatively early but we chilled outside for almost 2hours before heading in. Upon reaching the car park, the scene was exactly just like what you would see in movies. Groups hanging around their cars, boots open while they sit at the back drinking, cars with custom made stereos blasting out club music.

Drunk photo's of HoBitch is priceless and never fails to crack everyone of us up. Silly woman had too much to drink and was already gone before we went in. Well actually, her, Andrea&I were gone but at least I was still sober enough to "hop" in. Like, HoBitch & I literally hopped into the circuit because we were already mad high.

This is what wine, black label, heineken and vodka&black current mixer will do to you kids. Never do this at home, or with the knowledge of your parents lol. Vodka with juice are deadly as hell because one can't really taste the vodka as the juice overpowers the vodka, which what makes it so deadly-! I couldn't really feel it at first but it kicked in after a while and whooooooo boy. KO.

With Jwen and Gavin. T-shirtception.

Trying to act chio but the dustbin behind ruined it

We were all already tired by this point, and it was only 11.30pm I think? Proves how old we're getting. HoBitch was sleeping on the floor by then and Fernandez, Gavin & I went around walking to look for friends. Turns out a lot of them were there too.

The lights at the back resembles so much to the ones set up at Electric Daisy Carnival. Omgosh its seriously a dream to be able to attend festivals like these in the States. If I think its already hardcore here, I can't imagine what it will be like over there.

Wenfenlen & I =) We make a pretty good looking couple.

Sexxay momma of the night, Ariel-!

I should really create a collage of HoBitch's drunk photos. It has already been decided, it will be her wedding gift from me ;)

With William (new friend and Drea's date)

View of the bar from far. I sorta said that I didn't want to be sober for the whole night. Not drunk, maybe a bit tipsy so I can enjoy everything a bit better. But the queue at the bad was mad long so I didn't bother getting any drinks.

The gang, minus Ellen, Stone & Fernandez

Attending my first rave was truly like a dream for me. I used to log into tumblr and see all these rave photos that people posts up and I would go "someday, I'd attend one of these". And if I could, I would totally loose my mind.

Attending it is one thing, but being in the company of such good friends is also another. I don't think I'll be able to find any other people that can tolerate the pissy drunk side of me. They may not be wild party animals, but they sure know how to have fun. Also, its extremely important to party with people you trust and can have a great time with. Otherwise, whats the point?

Being there that night was so surreal. My mind went blank for a minute. I was like "Am I really here? Just look at all these people!". Rave's like these may be held all the time, but as a first timer, I now truly understand what its all about. My first perception of raves was that it was a place where people go to get high as fuck and do nasty shit. Because that was all that has been portrayed in photos.

I was wrong. Its a place to see, and be seen. Its a place where you let yourself go and let the music take over control. Its where people who truly appreciate this genre of music go to unwind and support their favourite acts. Avicii was the best last night (abuhden). He spinned a few songs from Swedish House Mafia and Tiesto as well.

Awesome fireworks at the Justice stage. What a way to end an epic, sick night. The huge jam leading out of the circuit was a major contribution to the awesomness as well. Sense the sarcasm.

Another Week, Another Birthday

While in the midst of rushing to complete 2 of our Sem3 dissertations, we still had time to throw LordBlack a surprise birthday party-! Are we monster tankers or what. Most of us are still surviving on 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night.

Everyone gathered at Belly Good, a quaint restaurant located in Mentari. The girls blindfolded her in the car as a surprise. It was quite a day though. All of us pretended to have forgotten her birthday, didn't even wish her or anything. We were informed that she was really down by lunchtime but we still didn't budge. Our plan was to make her cry like mad and we succeeded.

Waited for the birthday girl to arrive for a good half an hour. We were all beyond the point of starvation by then. If our stomachs could talk, they would have screamed. The main ingredient served in Belly Good? Pork... Pork... And more pork. Its like a Chinese heaven. I know that there are more German pubs and bistro out there that serve genuine pork dishes, but being a superbly broke college student, I just couldn't be bothered to splurge on munchies like pork knuckles and authentic German house brewed beer.

And btw, Mademoiselle Iphone is at the spa and I've been using her distant "Nuclear bomb withstand able" distant cousin from Finland, Nokia. This takes going-back-to-where-it-all-started to a whole new level. I've been using Nokia since I was 12 ( why does a 12yr old even need a phone still makes me ponder ) and have been using it ever since...

Until I changed to my Iphone this year that is. I've been made fun of by my classmates whenever I pull this poor thing out, or whenever it rings lol. It's been nice having you as a replacement for the past couple of days, but I'm afraid it won't work out. Not unless you have wifi and magical apps to keep me entertained. But it was fun while it lasted.

I got too excited when LordBlack arrived that I totally neglected to take pictures of her surprise entrance. Everybody kept extremely quiet and the second the blindfold was off, everyone yelled SURPRISE and she teared :') Silly woman who thought we all forgotten her birthday, how could we?!

Couldn't really care about what happened next because I was so hungry I could have eaten a horse at that time. But I'm glad the surprised was a success-!

Mango smoothie

Mushroom soup with garlic bread

Tomato and cheese bruchetta

Portobello mushroom with cheese and bacon. Soooo orgasmic. The juiciness of the mushroom together with the bacon and cheese topping @.@ The girls ordered one whereas the boys ordered two, both for sharing. However, we were told that they only had 2 left for the day-! No way in hell were we going to give ours up so the boys had to give in to us in the end, naturally.

Trio plate, consisted of pork ribs, pork belly and sausage with mash and coleslaw on the side.

Pork bolognaise pasta

Pork belly. I'm not usually an avid fan of any dish that has a ghastly layer of fat, but this was sooooo good. In fact, too good till I was looking forward to eat the fat instead of the meat. It wasn't the icky gooey sort of fat, but the kind that melts the moment it settles on your tongue. Indescribable.

Huge ass pork platter shared by 6 of the boys. This costs a whopping RM180 but it is considerably worth it because the size of the plate is about 3 times of my face.

Holy mama would you look at those sausages. The boys still weren't full in the end. Claimed that it merely made a "dent" in their stomachs. They finished the entire platter in less than 20minutes, I'm quite certain they did it in 15minutes.

Pork burger with coleslaw and fries on the side

The restaurant is very modestly decorated. A bit too modest till it looks like its not decorated at all actually. WeiMae and I have came up with a conclusion though. Restaurants are very much like books, the more plain the cover page is, the better the book. Despite being a non-picky eater, I can assure you that Belly Good is definitely worth the money. The price is somewhat similar to Chilies but the quality of food is better and you don't have to wait a few lifetimes to get a place lol.

Ladies with the birthday girl (2nd from the top)

I have very attractive male friends -.-"

We hereby declare HoBitch in charge of all the birthday cakes in the future-! She works at Humble Beginnings Bangsar so she has got access to the best mille crepe's in town. A cake of this size costs RM102 and its totally worth it laa because its so yummylicious, not that sweet and really filling. Today's flavour is chocolate peanut butter with choc chips on the top.

Birthday girl looking stoned. My dear minion, I hope you enjoyed your birthday this year. Apologise for it was not as grand as expected but, its the thought that counts? Harhar jokes. Your new years resolution shall be to not cry a river every other day, but your are permitted to during certain special occasions ;) Happy 20th birthday once again my minion =)

Feast your eyes... Be jelly.
